Hi Roger,
did you set the grid before quantizing using sws? To set the grid, hit 
alt+l and set it there, or, if you use osara and my keymap, ctrlshift 
and the number row will help you set itt: 4 for quarter notes, 8 for 8th 
6 for 16th. If you have the latest osara f12 will toggle the input help 
mode, that is like training mode in rea-access.
