[Rwp] Amp sims

I find them generally decent, I've been using it for years,
just wanted some feedback from others which might have used them.

There seems to be more metal on here where as on the mag, it's more
general stuff,
the thing you have to think about with these guitar simms is that it's a
finished sound, not like plugging in to your amp,
but what you get when it's all mixed,
and that's why a lot of folks prefer to re-amp and such rather than use
simms.

But I'm not looking for perfect, just good enough and most john q public
doesn't give a rip as long as the tone is in the park,
we're the only one's who obsess over little things.
The one I like best, again for general purpose things, that I've used so
far is that older series 2 version of amplitube.

But I find myself using the wavs one because it's easier to quickly grab
a decent tone, and there are a million settings in the amplitube,
stomp boxes, and eq and speaker cabs, power amp and such, where the wavs
is just tones and presence, and a few mic positions, and
you have your basic amp setting and you can add all the fluff,
separately either post or pre amp as needed.

It a good generic start in other words.
I've also been impressed a bit by some of the iOS things,
the names escape me right now,
but I heard some demo on you tube of a guitar amp simm which really
sounded good.
But at that time, the guy was complaining about some little bit of
latency, not supprising
considering the puny power of tablets compared to pcs,
but maybe they're resolved that now.
I'd like to try one now that I have a late gen Ipad
which has a decent i8x processor,
which is a tri core and actually has 2 gigs of memory.

These things are growing up.
I need to nail down some sort of Irig
thing so I can start playing, just been trying to decide how much I want
to spend and what to get.
Anyway,
we have lots of choices.
