[Rwp] How in the world do I select a certain patch?

Well, now I'm scratching my head.

I imported an instance of the tts from cakewalk and one of my midi
files, and did the easy thing, told reaper to make receives to all the
channels from the I/O dialogue.
on teh tts soft synth.

Then inserted the midi control on my bass track, which should be up
stream from the synth you'd think.

No matter what i did, I could not get the program to change

I should try this with some actual hardware, since I know soft synths
can be pecular in how they handle midi commands, and tts is a cakewalk
thing, but you'd think being a standard gm level 2 synth, it'd act right.

Oh well, we'll keep pecking away at it here.
