[Rwp] How in the world do I select a certain patch?

Well, you still need to know the midi implementation of your particular
instrument, how it maps it's patches so you can send it the right one.

Sounds like maybe your piano might be general midi, if the sounds in
that pre-fab midi file were
alredy mapped well.

With reaper, I think you pretty much have to create a bank patch event,
there's not that nice bank and patch system like we have in sonar.

I'm told it's gotten better, but reaper's midi implementation in my
oppinion leave something to be desired.

Forget what it's called now, but I tried one of the reaper plugs which
is supposed to send bank and patch, might have been one of the js
things, but it didn't work as expected.

the only time I've been able to change patches is to edit an existing
patch event by going in to the midi editor and doing so there.

As far as selecting midi ports, I believe that involves a bit of mousing
around
I think it's in a context menu, I've slept since I did this last, but I
believe that's what I did.

As far as soft synths, there's an easy way to assign a receive from all
your midi tracks,
when you go in to the track i/o when you've inserted a synth.

That's a nice feature.
As far as writing a novel, well, there's a balance,
and a happy medium 'grin'.
But as far as I know, there's no easy way to change patches and bank on
reaper in a generic way,
everyone I know who's talked about it uses their control surface
keyboards to do it, I hope someone corrects me and tells me I'm wrong.

Coming from a strong midi back ground, I am jus so spoiled by sonar.

I'm getting a leg up on reaper, but mostly in the audio editing area,
I think that's it's strong suite.
