U don't give us a lot of info, Blake (Tracy?). First, what would you
like to be called? How much memory does that Surface Pro have? Do u
use adaptive technology? If so, what type/version? Do u wish to do
midi? Audio? Both? I know--I'm just full of questions, but,
truthfully, good advice presumes good information, which we don't
have.

Having said all that:
1) I doubt a Surface Pro will be a truly adequate music/audio editing
machine, as most laptops really aren't;
2) U do need another soundcard, preferably 1 that supports asio.

Why don't u give us a little more info, & let's see if we can't be
more helpful. Also, u can use reaper w/o buying it--it gives a nag
screen once in awhile, but that's about it.
