You kno what, you all did give me that link earlier, and I bookmarked it, meaning to look at it. I totally forgot about this, so my apology. I'll go do that now, being I have some free time to do so.

Chris.

SWS is an third party set of extensions or plug in for reaper that enhances its usability and workflow. The difference is SWS is a mainstream set of extensions not one developed for the blind or any specific group. the www.reaperaccess.com site has an explanation on this under the getting started page and some quick start scenarios to help get anyone up and going with reaper.

So, I am still very confused what SWS is. I'm so sorry! Really, I swear I'm not trying to be a pest about this.

One thing to note here. From what i understand Reaper has no API’s for the master track so neither SWS nor any or the reaper access plug ins can access the master track. However VO sees it and i can use VO keys to do stuff on the master track

Definitely take what Vic's done so far for a spin if you're of a
curious mind, it's bear bones, but saved a lot of VO-ing around when I
        tried it.

FWIW, for anyone who doesn't know, I recently submitted an application
that'd secure some funding for the more labour intensive less fun
areas of OSARA development. No news on whether my bid has been
accepted just yet, but one of the things that was included based on
some consultation with Jamie is some hours to investigate what'd be
involved in a Mac port of the project. There's a further bunch of
hours blocked and accounted for if that research goes well. Please
understand that it's mostly speculation at this stage, and the Mac
stuff doesn't even begin to come into play until next year on the
roadmap we cooked up, so this isn't a commitment that OSARA will be
cross platform next week, it's merely someone saying that there's
interest that will be explored if the money arrives.

          Hi Christopher.
While I agree that by default Reaper seems to be more accessible on the Mac
when you open it up, the current flow is very inefficient for a serious
production work where speed and time is important. THis is why both Windows
and Mac version do need enhancements in order to to be comparable to
something like Sonar with either JSonar or Caketalking scripts.
I started writing a Mac OS plugin for Reaper, but just can't find the time
to jumpstart this and move the code from the "noodle" state into something I
would not be ashamed to share with the public! <grin>
If you wish, I would be happy to share with yu the Dropbox where you can
download and try out the plugin.

          Best,
          Victor

Jamie, in answer to your question, I just opened it up, hit command+T to
create a track, then went into the track strip, found the volume,
vo+shift+down arrowed to interact with it, and then did a vo+up arrow.
Yes. I was able to increment and decrement the slider with absolutely no
            issue at all.

The only querk so far I have seen is when you get to the text box for the
track name, you can't just start typing the name into it. Routing the
mouse then doing vo+shift+space to literally click doesn't work either.
The trick is, when you get to the text field, hit vo+space. Then, you'll
hear Voiceover say, "Double click name." Then, you type the name of the
track, then hit return to apply the change.

Aside this though, I haven't yet found anything not to work. Granted,
I've not really opened much of anything in it, or played much yet with it
on the mac side, but from what very little I can see on the outer core of
            things, it looks extremely doable!

Hey, do we actually have another e-mail list for the discussion of Reaper
with Voiceover on the Mac? If we don't, and you all are at all
interested, I'd be more! than willing to set up a list for this purpose
            through my hosting provider.

You guys just let me know if you'd like me to proceed with setting it up.
It probably wouldn't take me but about 30 minutes at most to create the
list, and get it all configured on the back admin end, so it's totally
totally conveniently something I can do, and am extremely willing to do.
You all just let me know.

            Chris.

Out of interest, can you actually adjust the sliders for volume, etc. in,
say, the track view? I ask because I realised the other day that the base
accessibility code for the UI toolkit REAPER uses for these controls is
actually open source. I took a look at the code and, like on Windows, I
couldn't see any code for making adjusting these controls accessible, even
though it does indeed make the values readible. Of course, I could just be
            missing something, hence my curiosity...

            Jamie

Guys, I'm going to keep this e-mail, unlike my normal nature, very terse,
and incredibly short/sweet to the point, as it probably won't effect a
lot of you. It's Reaper related yes, but only somewhat indirectly. I
think though you should read this. If it's over 2 paragraphs long, I'll
vbe shocked, so just go ahead and read it. I think you'll be glad that
              you did.

So, as a lot of you know perhaps, I am both a Windows as well as a mac
user. Well, I decided today, what the heck, let me install Reaper on my
Yosemite machine and check it's accessibility out, if there be any at
all. I must say that I was not very hopeful.

Folks? I? am! blown away! It is flawless! I have yet to find a screen
that doesn't read! All the buttons are seeming to be completely properly
labeled, all the preferences screens read correctly, even the actions
screen is totally! totally! accessible. These developers really! really!
deserve a huge! amount of credit. This is wonderful! Cockos just gained
even more! respect from me. Not that I didn't have it before, but now, I
really! have very high hopes for this DAW! I know one thing: I
definitely! am e-mailing their support and congratulating them on such a
fantastically accessible recording sollution. This is absolutely
              awesome!

Thanks for letting me share my utter joy!

              Chris.
