Hey dude, glad your here.

Just pulling your chain a bit.

Hang out and we'll all learn something.

I figured out finally, how to loop something.

Reaper has so many darned ways to do things, it'll drive a man to 
distraction.

that's it's beauty and curse too.

Try turning on repeat, with control r and selecting
some audio with your alt-shift bracket keys.

Then there's an action which tells reaper to set those selections you 
made to the loop length.

Forget how it's worded but it's something like that.
Assign that to a hot key of your choice.

Boy howdy, then you have your loop.

Hit escape and it goes away.

Just like that.

What you are going to love most about reaper is how it magically glues 
difficult audio together.

You know all that pesky zero crossing stuf if you don't edit just in the 
right place, then you get nice pops and ticks and such?

Well, reaper let's you grow edges and shrink edges with your number pad 
keys, and move stuf apart and together,
leaving the stuff in the same time frame or moving it, anyway you like it,
it's just crazy.

But I've managed to fix some timing problems with clients of mine who 
like to invent their own time sig as they go 'grin'.

Take out   a quarter note,
that wasn't supposed to be there and make it sound smooth?
No problem.

Make a chunk go a bit faster, no problem.
Sonar has better
processing with radius, but it is a pain to use, and cross-fading is a 
pain, but this sort of sample level slicing and dicing is very nice in 
reaper.
You can even have your cake and eat it too by running reaper as a rewire 
device inside sonar, and edit the same audio.

How's that for hot diggity doggery?

Reaper makes me cuss and growl sometimes, but I like it a lot, I just 
bought it, it's the easiest program I ever
registered, took the serial right out of my email.

Wait till you start messing with the js plugs,
there's all sorts of fx and spacey kinds of bit mangling, and such in there,
no you don't get the
same kind of channel strip vibe and
console things you do in sonar,
but it's like sonar is a silver eagle bus, and reaper is a hot rod dirt 
bike.

Reaper is one of those things I have to do in sperts,
mess with it a bit, then go away, and come back to it, and every time I 
do, I know a little more.

We still have a long ways to go in some areas,
but we're getting there.
