[RWP] How to equalize volume/DB on a track.

Just for the record in reaper's defense,
concerning the fake slice and dice automation most of us use when doing
stuff like this with this little daw, it's really nice to be able to go
back and change your settings if you decide you don't like what you did.

I tend to use snapshot automation even in sonar because you can get way
more precise
getting between words and making everything perfect, where as with a
control surface it's easier to do broad strokes and long fades and things.

Most of what I do is detail work, bring up the last part of a quite
syllable or cutting down a loud word, or even de-essing dynamically,
uping a guitar lick, you get the idea.

So if you like this sort approach to automation,
and you can control how your cross fades operate, then reaper shines in
this regard.

Most of the time I can avoid working directly on audio like this in
sonar, but when I need to lay audio on the work bench and do some
sawing, then I go for soundforge or reaper.
