[RWP] Assigning midi tracks?

Thanks, I'll try that. Hopefully not too much other stuff got broken in
Reaper 4 lol. By the way, I found out about control-up, and I interrupted
jaws when it said it couldn't find the handle... so I didn't hear the new
menu pop up. Thanks for this!
I've already made two podcasts. I've just got to edit them down. My friend
and I are in the planning stages of a conservatory of music for the blind,
in which I'll be teaching the sound and music design component. The first
podcast breaks down into five lessons: recording midi input, (with the
shortcut of adding a virtual synth since I couldn't figure out those moves
lol,) creating a basic software synth with ReaSynth, including parameter
modulation, adjusting midi parameters through using sliders, numbers, and
learned midi behavior, automating the effects using the already learned MIDI
knobs, and, finally, just for fun, a demonstration of the radical things
that can happen when you experiment. I use the ReaPitch plug-in, modifying
the pitch shift full range and formant shift full range with the foot pedal
and mod wheel, and play a short BlindLabyrinth promo clip through it so the
listener can hear how the plugin works. Then I go back to parameter
modulation and use it to modulate the formant, which makes the piano I play
through it sound... phased? Like a wawa? Well, you can decide that.
In the second podcast, I assign some action keys. First, I remap menu
customize to alt shift control c to make way for parameter modulate, which
becomes alt-control-shift m. Also, since shift p doesn't work, I assign it
to alt-control-shift p. Midi learn parameter becomes alt-control-shift-l,
and show envelope becomes alt-control-shift-e. (Automation is easier than
ever after that.) Then, I assign knob 12 to change last touched parameter.
That way, if you're on something and can't see what it does, just turn that
knob. Then, I assign knobs 13 to 18 to every parameter in the Ring Mod
plugin, go back through, show how they work, and end by showing a parameter
list (alt-control-shift-p) of the ReaPitch parameter and just how easy it is
to adjust all the parameters just by using the list.
I wrote most of this stuff down for the gurus that don't need the podcast
but can benefit from the info. HTH.
