[RWP] Another barrage of questions

Thanks for all the help so far. hope I can return the favor.
In Samplematic, is there a way to know what sliders I'm touching? Half of them don't seem to be labeled. I'm also not getting the notes to sustain with the pedal, though I'm receiving control messages and pitch bend works fine. As far as automation goes, I'm going to have it learn to use controller 11, the foot pedal, and adjust volume and pan that way I thing. Maybe it can be the generic controller for whatever slider I want to manipulate? 
My first podcast is at www.blindlabyrinth.com/SoundSynthesis1.mp3, and mainly discusses sound creation/synthesis with Goldwave using the expression evaluator and effects like doppler and flange. I have a second one, but I can't find it currently because I recently lost a bunch of data from the computer when it crashed, so worst comes to worst I make it again. It was about Granulab.
