[RWP] Side chains and Reaper

Using hardware that has a side-chain input in parallel with a graphic or
parametric EQ, I've done things like rolling off the extreme low-end on
the signal that gets sent to the compressor's side-chain input, or
peaking things up so that certain parts of the frequency spectrum make
the compressor hit harder than others. With enough resources, you can
use these techniques to fake multi-band compression. Not particularly
something you need to worry about with plugins around, but if you're
well versed in the theory, you can make this happen.
For example, using two compressors in parallel with lowpass and
highpass filter to split the incoming side-chain signal at one crossover
point, or center frequency, with settings optimized for each half, below
and above the crossover point. You'd do this to get things louder
without pumping, for example.
