Hello all.
I concur with Scott. I believe Reaper developers have enough information to make their software accessible. There are several issues:
1. We need to separate Windows Reaper discussion from the Mac one.
2. Rather than sending them the documentation on how to implement accessibility, we need to record a video demo showcasing accessibility problems with Reaper. This, of course, needs to be done with or without ReAccess so as not to confuse them.
3. After this we need to help them prioritize the must-have from nice-to-have features. For someone who has little knowledge on accessibility and the needs of screen reader users just the word itself can be very daunting.

We as a community have to decide whether we want to make the vanilla version of Reaper accessible or use ReaAccess as a starting point for accessibility. If we were to go the first route, it would be a lot of work, especially on Windows. They have done some good work on the Mac already.

On both operating systems we have the problem that the user is not aware of the results of their actions, e.g. when you mute, solo, arm tracks or perform any other activity.
I also feel that Reaper's default keyboard map is just not very friendly for keyboard users.

I would be interested to make a demo for Mac OS. Any volunteers for Windows?

Best,
Vic
