[RWP] Impulse cabinet responses

The simplest way to get started with this is to go Googling for free
IRs, then use your favourite convolution plugin to load them and put
that after whichever amp sim you're using. Seeing as you've already
got ReaVerb, that might be the loader to try first. If you tab along
passed the presets combobox etc until you come to an Add button,
that'll pop up a menu where you can choose an IR to load. It's a bit
button bashy because you have to manually hit the remove button then
hit Add again to load the next IR, so not exactly quick for
auditioning a bunch of options, but it's fine once you've narrowed it
down to a few decent IRs that are your go-to sounds.
Recab and similar plugins have the advantage that they use dynamic
libraries, so there's a definite increase in the realism, but you have
to weigh that up against the hassle of finding an accessible option.
Alex H has had some success with Recabinet that involves using NVDA's
OCR addon. I've picked up a license for Recabinet too because I was
proper impressed with the stuff he gets out of it, but haven't had
chance to play around with it yet.
If you find that static IRs are good enough for you in the mix
(honestly, they probably will be unless you've got some serious guitar
chops and taste) and you want to move beyond the free stuff to a more
complete collection, I've had good experiences with the stuff from
OwnHammer.com. His libraries are cheap, nicely organised, and sound
well captured to my ears. I like them because they seem to strike a
good balance between sounding natural but still being fairly close to
mix-ready compared to the other popular libraries I tried.
