[RWP] getting a mac for reaper what's the deal??

Did you get a purpose built daw for you sonar, or run it on a garden 
variety machine?

That what happens to many people, I had trouble with sonar on a shop 
machine, but when getting the purpose built daw, it was like night and day.

JIm happens to be a sonar man anyway, so that kind of sinks the deal for me.

yes, I'm biassed, I know, but reaper runs like nobody's business on a 
purpose built daw too.

Now I can understand if you didn't like the way something worked in 
sonar, heck, I'm not fond of sonar's audio editing atleast on a close up 
sample based bassis, that's where reaper really shines.

But for guitar simms, and heavy plugs, compressors on every track, 
transient shapers, mastering plugs, you name it, I can run many 
instances of my simension pros, hypersonic 2, sfz, along with big chains 
of eq and comp and paralel compression, and run at 32 or 64 asio bufers, 
with many tracks, and rarely have to freeze or render a track.

Ok, I'll give caketalking which is the flagship of sonar access the 
rasberry for being so bloated and out of scope for jaws scripting 
language, but it tries to do everything for you.

But with jsonar, and or window-eyes which allows me to use dedicated 
speech synths which is another thing sighted people do, no extra audio 
device hanging around to snarl up your high end devicde,
but we don't get that privelege,
at any rate, AI had the choice of running sonar or reaper with three 
different screen readers which allows me to do different things better 
depending on what I needed.

And I'll second what Vic said about Jamie and the guys over at nvda 
being top knotch fellows.

Jamie put up with my butt for 2 months, and patient answered all my 
questions, and made changes to the nvda scripts so I could work in xp 
better, even though it was going away,
and gave me every feature I asked for, and did it as a ridiculously low 
price.

If I get a few grand to throw at the project, I'm going to appriach him 
and get him to work on something, haven't decided whether it'll be sonar 
x3, or reaper,
but I kind of think unless apple really raises the bar in a significant 
way and stays going that way, I'm going to stick with a windows daw for 
the choices and hardware software variety I have.
