[RWP] Getting sounds from a midi synthesizer to play in Reaper?

Jes:

I would say use MLan, but as I understand it, that's no fun on modern
operating systems. As I have no personal experience doing things this
way, I could be wrong. Gordon Kent, who is on this list, would be the
man to ask about such things.
MLan would allow you to get a return from each part of the Motif's
sequencer in real time via firewire. Effectively, your Motif would
become your audio interface. I believe the SX8 comes with it by default,
whereas the SX6 needs an add-on board.

If you don't want to use analog or MLan, s/pdif is the easiest way to go
about getting a clean mix-down from your Motif, provided, of course, you
have an interface capable of syncing to s/pdif clock. I use a little
MOTU Audio Express interface for this.
