[RWP] A good soundcard for a voice over talent?

yeh Patrick and considering the headaches that can happen for us when we 
try and match this stuff up.

You might remember the headaches I had with the octane pres and the 
profire 2626
I had to set the clock to the octane, and the profire wouldn't run 
without the octane connected and it wasn't
turned on,
and I was limited to 48k, and I could have gone straight line in I 
guess, but I didn't have 8 line inputs on that thing, and that would 
defeat the whole purpose of why I bought the octane, to have 8 more inputs.

So that meant getting in to the interface to set both clock source, and 
or change sampling rates.
on a regular bassis.

and I couldn'[t make presets, because loading them, you still had to 
wiggle a knob to make anything work, so I finally said screw it, I'm 
going analog as much as I can for my signal path.

For my monitoring, and everything,
input to the interface, and life has been much easier since then.

I guess we both kind of did the same thing, except I got the mackie and 
you got the studio live.

I'm not against digital at all, but it sure depends on a lot of other 
things being right, and also as we've seen where they put the digital in 
the signal path.
