I wonder if anyone here has any experience using Mobius, which provides
8 stereo tracks.
you can load Mobius VST into a track in Reaper, then configure the
output of each of Mobius' tracks to go to its own separate Reaper track,
then configure the associated Reaper track to record the stereo output
of its associated Mobius track.
You won't get anywhere near this much clarity with any of the hardware
pedal loopers used by guitarists, even the TC Ditto pedals aren't as
clear, with each layer as distinct, plus you can't edit their overdubbed
layers afterward; like you can these 8 stereo tracks
The only thing not obvious is how to cause Reaper, actually Mobius, to
jump to the next track when recording.
Here he's doing it with a Behringer midi pedal, which I don't have, but
once you set up the Behringer pedal it will start and stop recording,
plus transmit midi to cause Mobius to jump to any of its 8 tracks.
I'll need to study this to learn if I can rig a pedal with any of my
midi control surfaces to do this.
Here's the Youtube link to a loop done on Mobius, then a link to
download the free Mobius VST, if you want to experiment with it.
If someone knows Mobius, please chime in, since there's the basis for
looping plus editing of tracks.
