[RWP] Fades

Hi, I am having great success with Reaper. One of the things I liked about Sonar was how easy it was to apply a fade in or fade out on a selected portion of audio. I could select from a number of fade types: exponential and linear for instance. I've tried to see if I can do something similar to this in Reaper, but I can't seem to find anything. The manual talks about drawing in fades with the mouse, but I was wondering what people do in order to create fades for selected portions of audio. Obviously, I can do a manual fade, which is fine when I have a control surface, but a bit more cumbersome when I'm working away from the studio, using just my Mac keyboard.
I've got the SWS extensions, and there is an envelope extension with fade options, but when I hit the process button, nothing seems to happen. It would be good if you could do this with the RE-console. Anyway, thoughts appreciated.
