Use software speakers? Use software everything. Or, maybe just imagine
creating music, instead of actually doing it. (tongue in cheek).
I feel your pain.
The older I get, the harder it is to crawl under the desk and deal with
chaos. But, it does exercise the more colorful aspects of my vocabulary.
I'd hate to let that go into decline.
I finally decided to arrange my studio so the mixing desk is not up against
the wall, but is out a couple feet, so I can get behind things.
You can buy cable organizers almost anywhere, so you can group related
cables together, that helps somewhat. I also connect up the cable at both
ends, so I know how much lenth is required. then, coil up the slack, and
tie it up with a twisty tie. That leads to much less loose cable lying
around. Try not to put one coil of cable on top of another, or things will
be worse.
