Well, I haven't got round to it yet, but I intend to get all those power
cords off the floor under my desk and sturdily mount the power strips
upside-down, somewhere within easy reach high up under the desk, then
wrap up the excess wire length and tie them off neatly.
I don't like bundling several cables together, though, so I have to undo
the whole bundle to move just one cable.
I also staple thick plastic Braille labels onto both ends of cables
telling me which gear they're for, so I don't need to thread my way
along an entire cable to learn which piece of gear it powers.
I've always compulsively braille labeled all A C adaptors as to what
gear they power, plus the essential info, like 9V N for negative tip, or
12V P, for positive tip, 500MA.or 2W, but I always did that rather than
plug an inadequate size or wrong polarity adaptor into gear.
It's not a total mess right now, it just needs to be better organized
than it is.
I have zero hum problems these days, I luckily have a three-prong wall
outlet that seems to have already been well grounded by someone.
