[RWP] my first project

Hi,
I just downloaded reaper, and the reaper accessibility module whose name
escapes me. Here are my questions:
1. I ran the reaper 4.58 pdf document through an ocr package, then grade 2
translated it.  The results are ugly at best.  Is there a clean version of
the manual for blind people to use?
2. Are there any very basic getting started materials for the blind?
3. I have started a new project, hit control-t and added a track.  I have a
usb headset. Obviously, I'm not going to take the world by storm with
recordings from this thing, but I can at least get a feel for how the
program works.  I believe I have made the proper selections in the audio
settings of preferences.
I can arm, set the track for input, and for monitoring.  When I do this, I
hear through the headphones what I say in the mike. 
If I hit "r"  for recording, I hear nothing through my headphones.  4. Does
the spacebar stop recording? If not, how do I do this?
5. I hit "w" to go to beginning of project, then space to play. It appears
nothing recorded.  Where did I go wrong? 
6. Is there an FAQ, so experienced people don't have to answer novice
questions like these every time someone like me joins the list?
