Hi & Greetings from the sweltering hot Queensland summer...

Scott ... welcome to the list and a Happy New Year to you and yours.. may it
be Safe & Prosperous for you...

With regards REAPER...it is quite an awesome DAW but you must get REAACCESS,
which is the bridge program required to give ScreenReaders access to the
program on many levels. REAACCESS is freeware, although currently it is NOT
being developed.

As regards Omnisphere, yes this is truly a most incredible synth, but
TOTALLY INACCESSABLE out of the box.

However, for a very small fee from VIP Audio Access, there is a HSC Set
available for the beast and gives those with JAWS an incredible amount of
flexibility when using the synth.

So don't be too quick too think that there is too much software in the way,
when using HSC, for it really is a most remarkable free program and the
amount of work that has gone into the HSC set by steve at VIP Audio Access
is nothing short of a miracle.

As I am not a JAWS user, (System Access) is my ScreenReader of choice, I do
have Omnisphere but I have gone down another road for access to this beast.
I use a program entitled AutoHotKey, in short, you create a small script and
set up various keystrokes which gives you manipulation over the mouse. This
is in its very very basic form, and I am slowly getting around to getting
the AHK Set done.

However, work in my studio, just keeps me away from scripting, but I do have
access to the complete library of over 8,000 patches.

If you have any more questions just shoot them to the list...

Have a great day...

Hello.

I just joined the list yesterday so I'd like to wish you all a belated happy
new year.

I purchased a zoom r16 recorder in December of 2011 and though it has a lot
of knobs and buttons, I have not been able to get any help in learning how
to use it, not even getting someone to give me the layout of everything.

As a result, I am considering selling the unit and moving to a more
accessible platform, namely a laptop with reaper, perhaps NVDA, but I can
also use jaws if it will be better, and Omnisphere.

My question is, how usable is omnisphere with Reaper with either access
solution?

If this vst can be used with reaper without using hotspots with nvda, I'd
honestly rather do that since hotspot clicker will be just more layers of
software to complicate things.
As an aside, if anyone knows of any good resources for the zoom r16, I'd
appreciate the information as well.

The other thing that, though I like the sounds of omnisphere, and it would
probably be the perfect synth for me since I write ambient music, that is a
concern for me is whether or not I could set up a midi controller to alter
parameters in real-time while I'm playing and, if I set that up once with
something like midi-learn or whatever, will that information be remembered
from session to session and project to project?

I know this is a lot of questions for someone who doesn't even have reaper
yet but I'm trying to find out some things before I take the jump.

Thanks for the help.

Scott
