[RWP] new and am considering reaper

Hello.

I just joined the list yesterday so I'd like to wish you all a belated happy
new year.

I purchased a zoom r16 recorder in December of 2011 and though it has a lot
of knobs and buttons, I have not been able to get any help in learning how
to use it, not even getting someone to give me the layout of everything.

As a result, I am considering selling the unit and moving to a more
accessible platform, namely a laptop with reaper, perhaps NVDA, but I can
also use jaws if it will be better, and Omnisphere.

My question is, how usable is omnisphere with Reaper with either access
solution?

If this vst can be used with reaper without using hotspots with nvda, I'd
honestly rather do that since hotspot clicker will be just more layers of
software to complicate things.
As an aside, if anyone knows of any good resources for the zoom r16, I'd
appreciate the information as well.

The other thing that, though I like the sounds of omnisphere, and it would
probably be the perfect synth for me since I write ambient music, that is a
concern for me is whether or not I could set up a midi controller to alter
parameters in real-time while I'm playing and, if I set that up once with
something like midi-learn or whatever, will that information be remembered
from session to session and project to project?

I know this is a lot of questions for someone who doesn't even have reaper
yet but I'm trying to find out some things before I take the jump.

Thanks for the help.

Scott
