iF the goal is to use Garage Bands Sounds, then you wouldn’t want to save it as a midi file. Export the audio and then work with it as audio in Reaper or another Daw. If you save it as .mid and bring it into reaper you will still have to run it through a soft synth in reaper to get whatever instrument sound you want.
