[RWP] Is Izotope an accessible VST?

Hi Scott.

I didn't know you could do automation with plugs. I remember reading a
while back that with sonar for instance, automation lanes were inaccesible.

Does reaper use a different type of automation process?

I have a plugin by liquid sonics called reverberate, not sure if you've
heard of it but you're apparently able to use impulse files to create really
complex reverbs that are great for ambient and drone music.

With reaper, when I pull this plugin up, I get around 42 presets and can't
figure out how to import impulse files. Perhaps that a task that automation
could expose parameters to, I don't know.

I used eventides blackhole for a 14 day trial but thought $199 was a bit
much for a reverb, especially when the valhalla stuff is also pretty good at
$50 a plugin.

Besides, I hated the iLok system, probably more than ITunes and that's
saying a lot.

Scott

It's a mixed bag, hard to give a definitive answer without knowing which
titles and tasks you're interested in. I've got Ozone 5, Alloy, Nectar and
RX 2 here, which all get a fair amount of use. Ozone and RX aren't the
latest versions, I just haven't seen enough movement on the accessibility
front to justify upgrading. For the ones that are accessible, I'd classify
them as kind of usable rather than 100% accessible, reason being that they
do still seem to need a bit of trickery here and there and all of them seem
to have their quirks.
Lots of parameters are exposed to automation though, so if you like that
method of using plugs then you're in good hands.

Let us know more specifics, might be able to narrow down what works and what
doesn't for you.
