[RWP] Patch and bank changes: Something I should know, but can't figure out

How do I do bank and program changes with a VST instrument? I know it has to do with the ReaMidiControl plugin but I just can't make it work. I don't have the ability to do it with my MIDI keyboard or I'd just do it that way.
