I like to use sf zed to convert soundfonts to sfz files,
it usually get's the off_by opcodes right in drum kits,
but you're better off tweaking and doing sfz files properly by hand,
and there are some scripts people have written to import larger sample 
pools,
but it's not that bad once you have a few templates around.
