[RWP] a newbie, not to the list but to reaper itself

Hey Scott,
That checkbox you've noticed to set VSTs to come up with a generic
interface by default is pretty much the same deal as viewing the
automatable parameters, seeing as that's what the generic VST display
is built from. You'd be presented with those parameters in the FX
window itself, but personally I prefer the ReaAccess view you get by
hitting Shift+P because it's searchable, which comes in handy if you
use plugs with hundreds of automatable parameters and you want your
arrow keys to last longer than a week lol.
To insert a file, Alt+I gets you to the Insert menu, and it's the
first option. From there, it's a standard open dialogue box to browse
for the file. You can select multiple files to bring in at once, and
Reaper will ask whether you want them imported onto separate tracks or
sequencially all on one track... neat little function.
Hth, happy exploring.
