[RWP] rob papen product line with NVDA and system access?

I have one of these units. My biggest issue is that it's very hard, without being able to access the inaccessible software, to change easily from using it as a control surface for tracking and transport controls, as well as a general device for sending arbitrary assignable messages for effects and the like. With the Korg Nanokontrol editor, you can make specific midi CC and NRPN maps and save them in the unit, but that doesn't work with any screen reader.
So, as far as I'm concerned, it's really best if you use it for one or the other, not both. I haven't tried to see what happens with two on the same system, one configured as a general control surface, and the other as a button/knob box.
There are a few steps to take in Reaper if you want to use a pre-existing control surface standard vs. just a midi input device, to which anything can be assigned.
