What are GraphTech saddles made of anyway?
Are they metal, with just a little bit of teflonized plastic at the
point where the string goes over the saddle?
I'm considering a set of cast stainless steel saddles for my miniStrat
I think it's excessively bassy buzzy sound is coming from rattling
adjustment screws in cheap stamped sheet metal saddles.
The cast potMetal saddles in the Squire HH sound great, because they're
new and the screws are still tight in their threads.
You can even buy sets of allen adjustment screws that are blued, and
made of hardened steel, instead of the mild steel the stock adjustment
screws are made of, only a couple dollars for a set of 18 screws,
including the 6 phillips-head intonation screws.
Actually, it's just future-proofing, against wear; since we shouldn't
need to obsessively screw around with those screws, once we get the
setup right.
