Aaron, if you know Python, dig in and help.
Reaper can be transformed totally with python.

It's not a closed corporate product, like other daws, it'was originally 
written to be adapted to particular user needs.
Reaper comes with an actions list with thousands of unused actions, just 
waiting to be assigned shortcuts, plus there is a macro creating tool, 
which a person who's inclined toward programming can create macros to 
whiz through commonly used actions.
Anyone who's willing to dig in to the toolds already in Reaper can 
transform it into a smooth polished daw for blind musicians, no need to 
wait limp-wristedly for divine assistance from either Ivan or the Gods 
of Mount Cockos.
