Yeh, and you always have the choice of running a later version of reaper alongside your 3.78.
I really didn't want to give up 3.78 because it works best with re-access but the vst window thing is a big deal.
Folks like Steve have spent lots of hours working with others to decide what's best, and he was nice enough to bring me up to speed.
With a separate vst window you get a window title and the stuff showing up all
in it's own place, it's also possible to use an offset and convert existing sonar stuff to reaper.
This makes porting things over way easier and work doesn't have to be redone.
NOt as much anyway.
Also the advantage of autohot is that it's a single exe file,
\doesn't require any jaws dependancies, and doesn't even require a screen-reader for that matter.
But there are advantages to being tight with screen-reader functions like hsc has.
But many
reaper users are using nvda,
and I have done hsc dev a bit, but I like doing things that are not proprietary as much as it's possible.
to do.
But it's a matter of what ever works best for you,
jaws users who already have hsc heavily implemented may prefer the hsc method.

I will give it a try though. I just have a feeling that I will be running all kinds of apps while trying to load sounds.
lol.
