[RWP] Looping

I can't make this work either, although I did once. So, I know it is
possible to loop by extending.
I selected an item, and quadrupled the length, and had the loop Source
checkbox checked. The result was absolutely no change. If I cut the length
in half, then the item plays, and cuts off early as expected. But, making
it longer had no effect at all.
So, there is, as usual, subtle nuances to how it actually behaves.
Details, the devil is always in the details.

Well, atleast for now we can copy items to extend them,
but I'd love to be able to loop items to trim ends and such to prepare
loops for export and such.

Hmmm, no idea to be honest man. When I tried this workflow and it
didn't work last time, I assumed it was because the source media
wasn't recorded in that session so Reaper didn't have so much of a
handle on it, but thinking about it, that's probably a dumb thing to
think. Anyway, I just tried it again to build a trailing vocal delay,
and it didn't work here. I can tell that Reaper is extending the item
length by the right amount, but the audio itself isn't looping, so the
extention of length is just silence. The loop source checkbox is
    checked in item properties.

Anyone know where we're going wrong with this?
