Filter the actions list using the term "Nudge Selection" to see a handful of handy actions you can assign shortcut keys to for doing this. (they may already have shortcut keys assigned) There is also an Extend selection to next transient in item action, and a swap left edge of item. You may want to also filter the actions list using the terms "left Selection" and "Right Selection" to see all the options for working with left and right edges of item selections.

>> Scott - I discovered that check box after posting my message last night, It only appears to work however when you have a selection and you change its start or end point and want to hear the playback at that point. It doesn't seem to work when you initially set the start and end point of the selection. I thought i could go undo my custom action, but it seems to still be useful.
>>
>> Jim - Yes go to start of time selection is the action i was referring to here. Yes while there is a go to start of time selection hot key, you will still have to hit spacebar to play after hitting Windows+leftbracket to go to start of time selection. If you created a custom action that chained go to start of selection, and transport: Play, and say assigned it to Windows+Spacebar, you can then go to the start of a selection and play it in one keystroke.
>>
>> There is also a play skipping selection action you may want to have a hot key assigned to which is handy for seeing how well to parts play together after the selection is removed.
>>
>> Though i think i will go assign hotkeys to go to start of selection and go to end of selection for those times i may need to move to those points to perform another action but not play from there. I believe the windows+left and right brackets was a shortcut ReaAccess brought along with it.
