[RWP] Wanted AHK script

Drew, I totally see your point...and I am an advocate of choice believe me.
I wish we had every bit as much choice as a sighted dood, but what I'm
trying to say is about the "here and now"!

NVDA with an AHK solution for all the plugs we need would be fantastic, but
who's going to do it? I hope someone will, but the time/effort and
frustrations that go along with it are not usually recognised by a
user...and I'm not saying they should, but a good example is your comment
that it would cost
much less to create another cross platform solution...where did you get this
idea from?

There is absolutely no money to be made out of access solutions in this
area, as the community/need is too small, so we're left with someone doing
solutions on a personal level...that's how I usually do it and the money I
make back hardly covers the outlay I make to hire sighted help, never mind
the time I put in. A good example is Jim who develops HSC, my god if that
guy got payed for the work he's done, the bill would run into the tens if
not the hundreds of thousands, but it's free!, amazing eh. Jaws is a means
to an end, an area that I have the skills to create, AHK is not at the
moment. Don't under estimate what's required to make something accessible,
think about the time it takes to learn a plug to the level you need to in
order to script it, plus many specific HSC functions have been created to
make certain plugs interfaces accessible...and this has been an on going
thing...I don't know if AHK could meet our needs to such a level.

The current climate gives us free HSC, free AHK, free NVDA, free/cheap
Reaper, so I can see why Jaws would be a turn off, but I don't see how you
come to the conclusion that it would be much cheaper to create another
solution...unless you mean someone should do it for a couple of hundred, but
put hundreds of hours work into it. Not realistic, unless you want to do
the job? Cheers Steve.

That's kind of a self fulfilling prophecy though. Without JAWS, you won't be
able to use these JAWS spots, so even though it would cost much less to make
new cross platform alternatives, you should instead pay for a screenreader
you aren't used to because, well, everyone else does.
