[RWP] Reaper and midi loops

Hi guys,
I don't know if anyone has tried ripper with MIDI. I hope it's  good because I'm still using MIDI a lot. I would like to do something that sonar cannot do.
Can you have a 2 or 4 bars loop running while the other tracks are free to record/playback as many bars as you want? The only way to do this in sonar is using this awful matrix thing or of course copy 2 bars 99 times or more.
And in fact, it doesn't really do the job either because I like changing things to a loop sometimes in live improvisation situations.
Would be nice if Ripper could do it.
