I'm rusty on those control surface button modes, but whatever mode will
toggle off and on; then assign it with midi learn from the action list
dialog; where you assign the shortcut.
I know for certain that mute track 1 through some number like mute track
32; is near the end of the actions list, assignable to a midi message.
Wouldn't that work?
You know, I wouldn't personally care much about muting tracks from a
control surface when it's so easy from the qwerty keyboard, which is
just another form of control surface.
That's why I'm being slow about creating all kinds of editing macros.
Until I know Reaper 100 percent, I like to work from the qwerty
keyboard; with actions already provided.
Eventually I'll find oft repeated editing actions to run with macros.
First, I'd like to learn what's already done with SWS and Xenakio actions.
The newest Reaper version provides grid lines set from transcients,
which Reason 7 also just provided.
Never mind that Acid Pro assigned beat and measure lines to any piece of
music wonderfully a decade ago, or that Cubase did it with Beat
Detective for many versions now; I want to try out Reaper v4.4402's
offering; with hopes it's finally a simple audio quantizer.
