So easy, and intuitive I never would have believed how easy!
With NVDA; in Reaper x64; open the action list with F4.
Tab down to New and press enter.
A custom action dialog appears.
It's obvious which field is the bin to fill with actions; because when
it's empty and you arrow down in it; you hear Drag actions here.
To drag a Reaper action into the custom action bin, just tab down to the
standard action list in this custom actions dialog; arrow to a desired
action you want to add to the stack of actions in your custom actions list.
After you arrow to the desired action; then use your Route to Focus
command; NVDA+-key; which is the numpad insert key plus the top right
corner key of the numPad.
Then press the NVDA key and the numpad enter key.
You hear the words Double click.
Now, when you tab back up to the custom action bin where you are
stacking up actions; you don't need to press any key; the desired action
is already there; waiting for more actions to be added to it.
So, tab back down to the custom action dialog action list; arrow to
another action; use Route to Focus again; then press NVDA key+numpad
enter again; hear the words double click again; then tab back up to the
custom action bin and there's the second action already placed just
below the first action you put there.
When you've completed your list of actions; you have a couple more
fields and selections to make.
You can tab to a selection to show your completed custom action in the
standard reaper action list, with a checkmark to be placed with the
spacebar.
You can tab to Consolidate Undo Points; with a checkbox.
You also can tab to an edit box to name your custom action, and the
filter list edit box, is there; which is where you search for a type of
action by typing in its function or its name.
When your list of actions for a custom action is complete; and you've
place checks; tab down to OK and press Enter.
You return to the first action list dialog; where you see your custom
action by its name, but you now need to assign a shortcut to it.
I pressed the tab Special Key and got an edit box asking me to press the
shortcut.
I pressed ctrl+Y because I didn't remember any action with that shortcut.
When I pressed OK and exited the action list; then reopened it with F4;
there was my new custom action with its newly invented shortcut
preceding it.
It was just a test action, so I pressed the delete key.
There is no warning; or; Do You really want to delete this action
It is immediately deleted, so take warning.
Wow, this NVDA drag/drop is way sweeter than Window-Eyes drag drop; and
creating custom actions is relatively simple.
