[RWP] Automation

Jim, here's that Cockos forum post on the same question you had about a
macro repeating nudge volume up.
Like I sort of remembered, there is a SWS action that nudges volume,
with an edit box available somehow for amount of nudge; see the second snip.
I believe the statement that SWS extension can't be automated is
obsolete now.
There are many ways to do this.
Maybe velcroing an old mouse onto the midi keyboard; with its scroll
wheel's purpose changed with a mouse modifier action, so the scroll
wheel raises and lowers track volume.
Press another mouse modifier shortcut and the mouse wheel maybe could
nudge pan.

Another thought is to just do a couple of tiny ordinary nudges, then
press a shortcut to change the automation envelope points shape to a
steeper ramp.
snip:
action:
Envelope: Set default point shape to fast end
40431
End snip.

Instead of stacking Nudge Volume up he could have used the action:
Repeat Last Action.
Here's the cockos forum:
:
Snip1:

Default Write automation with volume nudge in 1db steps?

Stock reaper will write automation in .05db steps...
SWS extensions will nudge volume in 1db steps but won't write automation...

Any way to have my cake and eat it too?

Before anyone suggests it, I did make a custom action that looked like
this...

Track: Nudge volume up
Track: Nudge volume up
Track: Nudge volume up
Track: Nudge volume up
Track: Nudge volume up
Track: Nudge volume up
Track: Nudge volume up
Track: Nudge volume up
Track: Nudge volume up
Track: Nudge volume up
Track: Nudge volume up
Track: Nudge volume up
Track: Nudge volume up
Track: Nudge volume up
Track: Nudge volume up
Track: Nudge volume up
Track: Nudge volume up
Track: Nudge volume up
Track: Nudge volume up
Track: Nudge volume up
Track: Nudge volume up

But it was a poor performer... ;-)

Was there something specific which made it a poor performer? Too
many/too few points added to the envelope, not right kind of ramp shape?

That custom action can surely be made more compact by using Cycle Action
editor and LOOP/ENDLOOP instructions

LOOP 20 | Loop --->
40115 | Track: Nudge track volume up
ENDLOOP | <---

...but the performance is about the same.

Not at the DAW atm, but isn't there also some way to consolidate all
actions into one for purposes of undo/redo? That could perhaps also help.

End Snip1.

Snip 2:
Download and install SWS Extensions
From the main menu, select actions, show actions list, and search for
nudge track.

You can custom assign those to keys by adding shortcuts for selected action.
Then from the extensions menu (command parameters) enter the amount
where it says track volume nudge.
End snip2.
