[RWP] autotuning in reaper?

haha, chris, I rewrote about 3 emails responding to that, and finally just
ended up with that one because I know this is a bit of a hot button topic at
the moment.
I've got plenty to say about the issue, however, I think it's probably far
more productive, and less in the relm of venting, to keep this list as on
topic with reaper related topics as possible.

Sometimes boxes are more productive than a free for all venting type list
which is how allot of lists end up...and then you get the explosions and
flame wars and offended ego's and all the rest of it.

I too look forward to how the big developers are going to react to the
emerging land scape of free workable screen reading software.
And as wierd as it is, linux and other OS's are becoming more and more
popular...especially with things like the rasbery pies and beatle bone
devices coming out that won't support a huge clunky super power like
windows.
I think, and reaper is a pretty good example of this, things have to become
more stream lined and simple and use specific. The days of one super power
like windows being the go to and more or less only kid on the block are
gone.
I think allot of us are a bit stuck with IOS and windows simply because
we've been pidgon holed into those OS's with the available screen reading
software. Unless you have a pretty in depth knowledge, it's hard to make
some of these other newer, simpler devices, talk.

So, I wonder, why, companies like FS and GW micro haven't put more R and D
into creating packages for linux or windows mobile etc. We hear about the
problems all the time with this, but these guys aren't dumb. I'm sure they
can develop something. The issue is that they are relying upon rather old
software parameters to keep their software going...and all that is changing,
leaving us, the end user, in the dust a little bit.
The microsoft OS's change, and suddenly JFW can't work. And apparently
linux is such that a JFW or gw product won't work on those either.

anyway, I think things like NVDA can only have a posative effect on making
our world more accessible.

regards
Colin

I think the whole internet is way too like let's not be human beings and put
everything in to little boxes separated from each other.

Well, the world don't work that way.

Perhaps I'm ruined by midimag whoch goes all everywhere, and yes we need
guidelines, but this whole technology gig is about all of us and everything
we use, so I personally don't mind talking about it anywhere.

But Jim and me are old hellions, he's nicer and probably doesn't blow up
lists as often as I do, and a respectable fellow but I don't care, I'm
turning 50 this saturday and if someone gets mad at me for something I said,
well, if their talking about me, it gives someone else a break.

These blind folks need something else to bitch about right ha ha?

Anyway, we are indeed in a time of transition, and it'll be interesting to
see where we land.

This is not the place for it. So, let me post it here. Blame Steve for
inspiring this thought.

Have you ever thought of the economic impact that the rush to embrace the
free NVDA will have on the
for-proffit screen reader companies? And, how the death of those companies
might impact us?
Hmmm.

Regarding GSnap, Tim Burgess has an HSC file for it over at:
http://www.raisedbar.net/articles.htm
but not sure if it will be of any use, as most on here are NVDA users.
Anyway, it may be handy, cheers

I used GSnap with Window-Eyes in 32 bits.
I suppose bridge intends to somehow bridge something to 64 bit windows 7.
What did you do when bridge came up?
Would none of it talk?
Did you try route to focus numPad insert and the numpad -minus key?
Did you try numPad insert and the 7 key?
Sorry, NVDA doesn't cover everything, unfortunately.
What's accessible in Wineyes or Jaws may not be, and vice versa.
