Klinke's plug goes much deeper than just using standard Mackie mode.
I know only what little I read about Klinke's plug's features, but I
got the impression that it is super detailed in what it controls.
It represents several years work.
Also, there's a manual for what Klinke's plug is controlling.
I found it very difficult to know what the standard mackie modes are
controlling; beyond obvious settings one can hear; like pan and volume.
Some of the buttons in standard Mackie mode aren't very useful as they
are, like the rewind and fast forward transport buttons don't creep
along for me; but just zip instantly to the beginning and end of the
timeline; same as you'd get by pressing home and end
One would need to somehow associate zooming in with them, to get them to
move slower along the timeline.
I prefer to navigate along the timeline from the arrow keys on the
qwerty keyboard anyway, but you can reassign the transport buttons if
they aren't useful for you.
