[RWP] behringer bcf 2000, and reaaccess

There are several or many versions of Klinke's Plug, since it evolved
over several years as people asked for different features, and also as
other programmers took the basic form and adapted it to their particular
needs.
One form is called Half and Half, doing something I first noticed about
the BCF2000 in its default mode, that it was great for controlling VST
plugs.
Half and Half devotes some controls to controlling Reaper and some to
the VST plugs.
Notice that there are several bundles of Sysex files with presets
designed by various people; that transform what the BCF2000 does.
You may find one of the forms suits your own needs; or you may end up
modifying it yourself.
Maybe there's a forum with a later version, but here's the link to a
sort of Uber Forum for Klinke's Plug and other associated posts:
http://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=33149
Near the top is the link to Klinke's Plug version .08 and Klinke's PDF
manual.
If anyone finds a later Klinke plug than 0.08, please let us know.

It is good to read as many threads as your sanity can bear, since many
people have commented on the plug or plugs throughout its development.
There's one intro, I think by Clerik, that is very clear but dated.
It's interesting to know that the BCF2000 controls Reaper right out of
the box, with no plug or other map, and controls in a slightly different
way; depending on which emulated mackie mode is chosen.
The endless coder knobs up top seem to control pan per track on most of
the modes, but it depends, since those knobs can send 64 different messages.

Mackie mode Cubase seems to make the faders jump to the next 8 tracks
when you select the subsequent track in Reaper, like it is set
originally to control volume on tracks 1 through 8, and can cause the
faders to jump to tracks 9 through 16 when you select track 9, etcetera,
only I couldn't get mine to do it.
Just for interest; Here's a video with the BCF2000 in Mackie Mode Sonar,
where you select the faders to control tracks 1 through 8, 9 through 16,
etcetera, by hand:

Here's a link to the video with it doing it automatically while in
Mackie Mode Cubase:
You can hear the motorized faders jumping to new settings as he selects
tracks.
By the way; when I first got it, something caused the faders on mine to
jump by themselves even when it was shut off; very spooky!
The ghost in the machine?

It's probably good to read Chris Smart's guide to using the Behringer
BCF2000 in Mackie Mode Sonar, for Tim Burgess's new talking plug for the
BCF2000 to run Sonar version 8.5.3; sorry I don't have the link at hand.
Tim will soon be finished with a later release, which is universal, for
all screenreaders and all daws, Sonar, Reaper, ProTools, etcetera.
It will have the advantage of speech, both ways, to read the BCF2000
settings, plus what's happening in the daw.
Now, whether Tim's BCF2000 mapping with speech will ever combine with
Klinke's Plug or not, who knows?
What a complicated world it is, and just keeps getting complicated er
and complicated er!
