Hi Trey. FM8 is an experiment for me with AHK and I can't see too much
being done with it apart from the basics, but who knows. I currently have
all 19 categories done and the up and down steppers for moving through
presets. SAPi announces if a category is selected or already selected, as
you could easily forget which one you have selected. Also, trying out SAPI
with AHK was my only alternative to get feedback, as I don't know how to
access NVDA at the moment, hence the reason why I did it.
Feedback from controls is paramount if you want to do anything of substance,
simple clicks are OK for controls that need just that, but for a simple
button for example, we need to know if it's on or off don't we? Anyway, we
can select a category and move up and down through presets in that category.
As a side note, in Absynth, I can move up/down through presets, mutate,
mutate retry, return to patch before mutation (within limits), save and save
as, which is basic, but enough if you're happy with presets and morphing
sounds. Maybe this kind of basic access is enough when spread over a number
of synths. Spectrasonics stuff is always going to be the synth/product I
use to dig deep with, so I can't see myself digging that deep with another
synth unless it's something users are all in agreement with. Maybe there
will be AHK versions in the future, who knows, cheers steve.
