You might be thinking of the soon to be completed talking app for the
Behringer BCF2000, which is in the beta stage at present, but; even
without that you can get all kinds of non talking control with the BCF2000.
Right out of the box; when set on Sonar mode; it's motorized faders
control 8 tracks; and can be shifted to control the next 8; then the next 8.
The pots up top control pan on each track; and the knob below that
controls something, I forget what.
This is only 1 of the many maps.
Reaper users in the Cockos forums have devised several other mappings of
the BCF's controls, too complex for me to remember them all.
Just google the words cockos reaper BCF2000 and you'll get lots of forum
threads; with downloads of various mappings.
Then, if those don't quite suit you; click on Param in the effects
routing page and find midi learn, and you can manually assign any
function to the controls of any control surface.
