[RWP] AutoHotKey A Few HotSpots

Unwanted s and L's seem to get into my typing.
It looks like the results of a stroke, but I think it's actually hand
arthritis that drags the s and l keys down as I type others.
i don't worry about it, I love this tiny low profile Logitech USB
keyboard, with its very short stroke keys, almost 0 effort to type, the
next thing to writing by thought transmission; but mistakes creep in
very easily.
To me, worrying about typing errors is like worrying about my spelling,
or my tendency to totally space out computer terms; or gear model numbers.
Now that I'm old, I realize that the apparent absent mindedness of older
people can be not from impaired brain function, but from their tendency
to concentrate very deeply.
Younger people are more outwardly directed, while older folks spend more
time musing; more inwardly directed, in trance like states.
That's my official policy anyway, not gonna have it called senility.

> It's a great little program, and I'll add it to my arsonal, long over due. But, there has been a bit of chatter about HSC versus AHK, and, after looking at it a bit, I think they are two different animals, with two different primary missions, with some overlap. AHK is a good tool for folks who don't have JAWS available to them. And, I can think of several ways I can make good use of it personally. But, unless you get pretty clever in your color searching, you will have a hard time using AHK with things that move around inside an application, or other active window. Still, that image search capability is pretty tantalizing. I hope it's reasonably responsive. I'm looking toward some relationship where HSC can use AHK to do the things HSC isn't good at.
> But, at the end of the day, you can't beat using a program's object model, or API, to get at stuff. It is going to be much faster, and more accurate, more stable, less dependent on color schemes, screen resolution, and all those other visual vagaries that drive us nuts.
> Most of all, speed. I don't know about you guys, but I want my DAW to be snappy, and fast, reapeatable and reliable. And these digital methods are the only interfaces that can provide that. We use these other tools when we have too.

> That didn't surprise me, except that his script said "click" and only provided coords, which is, as I read the AHK document, a left click by default.

> AHK is a pretty interesting program, and it seems to be focused more on automating user tasks from the standpoint of a user manipulating multiple applications and perhaps less on working inside of an app. Not sure yet.
> Naturally, I'm interested in learning more about what it can do. Maybe it can correct my incessant typing errors, turning, teh, into, the, and smae into same. That would be nice.
> Perhaps the most interesting part was the ability to search for an image, including the ability to allow a measured amount of forgiveness on color matches. You can do that forgiveness thing on single pixel color searches too. Basically, you provide it with a .GIF, or .ICO, or any of several file formats that contain the image or icon you are looking for, tell it a region to search, and it pokes around looking for it.
> I suspect that is a noticeably slow process, because they suggest ways to try to speed it up.
> And, I'm not currently quite sure how we will identify the images to search for. We've got a boot strap problem there. I am class A stupid as a windows programmer. So, I'm more than a little behind the curve. but, the doc suggests you can often extract the icon images right out of the program itself. Yeah, go find that one.
> But, how you actually do that is, so far, less clear.
> I wonder if there is a way to gen up a little utility that lets a sightling click the mouse at the top left, and bottom right corners of an image of interest, and have the utility save that image as something we could then use AHK, or other equally equipped tool, to look for.
