Hi & Greetings from the Sunshine Coast, REAPER Central
Okay, thought I would just look into this, so here are some preliminary findings...
Monitor On: Display VX 2240 W , Resolution 1680 x 1050 (Recommended) , The Maximum Resolution for this display
Mouse Co-ordinates 10, 10 File Menu Opens
Mouse Co-ordinates 50, 10 Edit Menu Opens
Mouse Co-ordinates 100, 10 View Menu Opens
Monitor On: Display VX 2240 W , Resolution 1024 x 768
All three Mouse Co-ordinates from above did exactly the same
Monitor Off: Display VGA , Resolution 1024 x 768
All three Mouse Co-ordinates from above did exactly the same
Monitor Off: Display VGA , Resolution 2560 x 1600
All three Mouse Co-ordinates from above did exactly the same
Another co-ordinate that was tested accidentally was 10, 50 this clicked on the New Project Icon, which I think is in the Toolbar, and because I had not made any changes to the project I was working on brought up the Project Settings Dialog Box...
As I said, these are only preliminary findings but tis quite enlightening.
I need a pair of eyes to give me some co-ordinates that can Click on an object somewhere near the bottom right hand corner to see how that translates...
Twill be interesting for sure...
Hope this is not boring too many people, but I think this is important, mayhap there are some brains out there who can add to this, at present I am in the dark.... pun totally intended....
Kind regards

Hi & Greetings from Queensland the AHK State of Affairs...
With regards the monitor and having to reboot, tis just like any other plugged in piece of hardware, it gives the 'device connect audio feedback when the monitor is switched on and the device disconnect audio feedback when the monitor is switched off.
I will try later this afternoon switching the monitor on and off and noting the change in the resolution settings again...
I will also try out the idea of changing resolutions with different Mouse Positions, I have enough scripts in development with co-ordinates set up that I know what they do, so will be a good test of this theory of Jim’s!
Tis now 10:45 and have started watching the shorts, cannot wait for the 11 o’clock main feature.
Twill get back with my results.
Kind regards

I would tell you, but my resolution numbers are copyrighted. <grin>
Did you have to reboot your computer after turning your monitor on or off to get that to occur?
I suspect that your video is learning what your monitor is capable of, and defaulting to something more commonly available when it doesn't know.
I run mine with monitor off all the time.
I have an item on my to do list to learn if AHK type solutions really do care about resolution. We have all believed so. But, some experiences suggested to me that it does not.
What we call screen resolution is really screen size. And, I currently think that, if you drop your resolution way down, what happens is that stuff in your application falls off the right side, or bottom of the screen.
Changing resolution is painful. Some times you can't get jaws to believe it unless you reboot, which is tedious and annoying. But, I will bite the bullet and poke into this.
The question would be, find a known point inside an application, and learn it's screen coords, both absolute and active window relative. Then, change resolution and measure it again. Did the numbers change?
Film at 11.

Hi & Greetings from The Great Southern Land
I discoverd something strange just yesterday, mayhap tis something I should of known but, I did not, but I do now...(oh, that could be a bit Irish)
When my monitor is on under Display / Resolution it gives me 1680 x 1050 Recommended (Landscape)
When my monitor is off under Display / Resolution it gives me 768 x 1024 (Portrait)
I am also running my video via DVI.
May I ask amongst those of you who are interested to provide the resolutions of your system with your monitor on and off, and whether you are using DVI or VGA...
This information will not be sold or posted or used against you in any way later in any sort of a court case...*laughs*
Thanx in advance all...
Just in case you are curious, I am just seeking information relative to AHK...
Kind regards
