Select the midi track with up down arrows.
Select the item to be quantized with either shift+A or
ctrl+shift+right or left arrow,
depending on where the item is in relation to where the cursor is.
Press ctrl+alt+E; echo; to bring up the midi editor.
press enter.
Press Alt+V; victor to select the Mode Event List. You only need to
do this once per session, it stays selected.
In the midi editor you can edit individual events per note; along the
track's timeline or, quantize the whole item.
To display the quantization menu; press the letter Q; as in quantize.
You now get a long list of quantization options at your tab key, with
choices or values at your arrow keys; like; for instance; whether to
quantize to the grid you selected in advance; or to quantize manually.
To change the grid setting, select manually, then tab down to the grid
settings; eighths, sixteenths, etcetera.
make your grid selection, then tab back up to where you chose manually
and now select Quantize to grid.

After selecting Quantize to Grid, then tab down to find many other
options, like to quantize notes;
events ; note position; note length, etcetera.
You get percentage of quantization, note ends, note beginnings and ends,
too many options to list them all here.
Make your selections; then final step, click on Commit to apply
quantization and return to track view.
