[RWP] Trying to add an effect to a track, it doesn't work on my guitar sound.

Hello,
I'm having a problem with effects, and i did google searches about it 
but i couldn't get it working.

I tried adding  a guitar effect to the effect chain, but once i do it, 
the effect will get applied on my keyboard's (workstation) output sound, 
and my guitar will completely gets muted.
My setup is like this.
I have an e-mu 1212m audio interface.
Keyboard (kronos workstation) is connected through SPDIF l/r.
guitar (electric guitar) is connect to AUX 1,  (A U X 1 )
Now when i haven'tt add any  effects, i can hear both my guitar and 
workstation sounds. but when i apply the effect, the guitar which is AUX 
one gets muted and it applys the effect on my keyboard.
Any help would be appreciated...
Oh, and i also tried changing my audio device settings. it doesn't 
matter if i choose  SPDIF, left and right, or AUX, left and right, in 
both cases  i can't get this effect on my guitar.
