[RWP] Changing tempo and selecting tracks/parts of tracks?

Maybe these could at least point you in the right direction.

Alt plus Shift plus Left Bracket, Marks beginning of Selection.
Alt plus Shift plus Right Bracket, Marks end of Selection.
Shift plus C, Opens Tempo Dialogue.
Control plus Shift plus H, Read current tempo.

If you would be so kind, would you advise me on how to insert effects/plugs please?

I hope the above helps, I'm pretty new to Reaper.
