[RWP] Alittle confused about looping an audio item.

I never tried what you say: opening the item up with shift+F2; don't use
that shortcut.
I select the item; then go to the item menu; go to item properties;
press enter; tab to item length and select beats; tab to the edit box
and make sure the item is an even number of beats, 2 4 8 etcetera; so it
will loop evenly and not get out of sync with the rest of the track.
Then multiply the original loop length by the number of times I want
the item to loop.
If the original item length is 2.00 beats, and I want it to loop 10
times; type in a new length of 20.00 beats.
Tab down to apply/OK and press enter.
This is a text method imitating the mouse method of setting number of
times to loop; which is, get the mouse pointer just within the right
edge of the selected item, press the left mouse button to grab the right
edge of the item; then stretch the item to the right with the mouse to
the desired length; then let go of left click button.
You can understand that we're accomplishing exactly the same thing, by
entering a new item length value in the edit field.
